The first moment I stepped foot on campus at The University of Texas at Austin my sophomore year of high school, I told myself that one day I would be a part of this beautiful university. I walked through campus and I could feel the passion in each and every student. That day my best friend and I attended our first college football game. As I stood surrounded by students proudly wearing their Burnt Orange shirts with Horns held high singing ‘The Eyes of Texas,’ I had goosebumps. That is an overwhelming feeling I will never forget. At that moment, I felt my blood turn Burnt Orange. Being face-to-face with all the traditions, the beauty of the University itself, the diversity of Austin, how could you not be transformed?!
My four years spent in Austin at the University of Texas were by far the best of my life. When I think of those years, so many things come to mind: from watching the tower turn Burnt Orange after a glorious victory, to strolling across campus on beautiful Spring days, and nights at Mozart’s on the Lake listening to music and studying for finals. The friends you meet in Austin, your fellow Longhorns, they will be your friends for life.
